For a few weeks, I've been making up excuses to not go to the skatepark. Finally, on Sunday, somebody saw me at a surf contest and asked why I haven't been going. I had no real reason, so I told him that I'd be there this week.
I'm glad I went. It was a great session and got some killer pictures.

So the kids, Colleen and I are hanging out at the
Grind for Life Benefit and out of the blue, Kelly Slater shows up. Nobody had really noticed yet. When Colleen walked up to Kai and me I gave the traditional look at the guy that's standing two feet to my right head bob.
Colleen insisted on asking for a picture and I didn't want to be "that person." Finally, I gave in. As he walked by, I asked him if we can have a picture with my kid and he turned to the camera, we got the picture and he was on his way. Of course, Kai looked drunk and I was shrugging my shoulder, but it was still really cool.
I'm feeling younger -

I had been anticipating yesterday's swell since last week. I woke up at what I thought was 5:30 and ready to get my stuff and head to the beach to wait for first light. I look at my clock ant it was only 4:00 am. There was no way that I was going to go back to sleep. I took my time getting stuff ready and left for the beach at 6:00. I scoped the beach for a while and was in the water before 6:20. I got out at 8:30 and left for work. It was hard to leave this behind.
Then I decided to go to the CB skatepark for the Wednesday Old Skool Session. It's fun to be the youngest in the group. And I got to skate with
Grind for Life's Mike Rogers. Damn he can rip and make it look far too easy.
